Air-​Gap-​Bonding

In this process, the dis­play and the touch sen­sor are con­nected to each other using double-​sided adhe­sive tape. The air gap between them is retained. This process is rel­a­tively sim­ple and quick to carry out. Bonding in a clean room, clean area or flow box pre­vents dust or dirt par­ti­cles from becom­ing trapped in the air layer. In addi­tion, the air gap bond­ing process allows tem­per­a­ture inter­ac­tions to be well com­pen­sated. However, this is off­set by the fact that when light hits the sur­face, reflec­tions occur on the top and bot­tom sides of the indi­vid­ual com­po­nents, which can impair the visual impres­sion of the dis­play and reduce bright­ness. This leads to addi­tional reflec­tion and impaired readability.
