Suez Canal Bottleneck

The coronavirus pandemic has already posed immense challenges for well-established supply chains. What has held up quite well so far is now under enormous pressure. For some time now, we have been observing the emergence of enormous bottlenecks in raw materials such as plastic and metal. The icing on the cake was the cargo ship that ran aground in the Suez Canal, one of the most important shipping routes between Asia and Europe. All these factors are already leading to drastic cost increases in the double-digit percentage range for many products, as well as longer delivery times.
